The author's house publishing company staff, saw the future in an illustration, and brought a whole book to life. That by itself, has me still re-reading the book. For me and maybe ten other new authors, it is difficult to actually 2 put the book down. Personally I keep going back to admire the excellent concerning the cover, and that by itself is excellent. U need to improve your sales and manuscript evaluation system. Sales department is not courteous and evaluation department pick on nitty gritty things. This is my fourth book with ur company but I was treated first time author. Dr Ravi K Puri

I talked with about 5 different people during the process of having my book completed. Only one of those people were good at returning calls and answering questions. Now that the book is completed and I have a question about royalties, I can't get a response. I guess I'm on my own about figuring out what happens next.

The editing, with some small reservation, was very good. Editors made it a point not to intrude on style and kept the sentences etc. very tight. Any corrections made were needed and the cover design was excellent and better than expected. The one drawback was the change of personnel a couple of times in the middle of the project. However, overall, that was minor. The photo display was also well executed. Overall, a very good job.

SCAM......I was told I would recive 100% royalty, I was also charged nearly £5000 - £6000 to publish my book plus additional £250 for 30 coppies. My book was put online on Amazon, I was then told I would recive payment quartly for purchases. I had family and friends purchase my book to ensure this was true.....it has been over 1 year and I have recived no money, I have tried contacting Author House for a few months now and been blocked, ignored and told I will get a call back. THIS IS A SCAM....they take the initial payment to put the book online and after that you get blocked as they make money of your book and you get nothing. To end the contract means pulling the book and you have to start from scratch but they keep that initial payment. PLEASE DONT USE THEM.....me and my husband used our savings, money from friends, loans and took a risk....for this to happen.

We are currently trying to save up for court which is now costing even more.....and Author House still want contact me in anyway.

These people took a lot of my money, and did not achieve any level of success or publicity.

After I had terminated my contract, and proceeded with the process of unpublishing they are still selling my book online without giving me any access. If you do a search for '3 Magic Dreams by Matt Bolton Art' this is the book.

They have made it impossible to access any of the meager royalties publishing with them had achieved.

Swift delivery at every phase. I disliked the constant pitch to sell additional services outside the package sold. This pitch can be done before the individual purchases a package to enable them to make a true assessment of:

Does the prepackage offering meet all of my wishes
Is additional add on packages within my budget
Allow the individual to focus on the steps to getting the book publish without the constant marketing calls

I was jaded by this approach

Choosing AuthorHouse was a good decision for me. They provided more formats and services than other publishers offered me.

Their only room for improvement would be in the communication department. It didn’t happen often, but there were a few times where I thought they were slow to return my calls.

What has made my experience great is that all members of staff working with me have been truly enthusiastic and helpful. They have been willing to work with my limitations. Unlike so many who use terms like 'valued customer', the people at AuthorHouse really do make me feel valued.

The results were the same. Excellent contact with A H reps, prompt replies to questions and magnificent job done on book's cover.

No accountability for what you say you will provide. No one has put authentic care into my book. I am treated like a number or, worst, nothing. No one reads or is interested in my book.

My experience with Authorhouse was great they kept in communication with me about the process of my book from cover to editing. Everyone has been great to work with. My only thing I could say negative is I wish they told you all the publishing fee and publicity fees all up front. Not contact you in a week about other options. That was the only frustrating thing for me. I did buy a few packages from them. Only one mishap with the back cover, it was resolved and they handled it very well.

I was treated badly over the phone by sales rep Beeler and needed to call his supervisor. The supervisor was very kind and solved the situation by sending three of my included-in-package books with no shipping cost.

When I politely explained that I couldn't afford to pay for their publishing deal (And that theirs was the most expensive I'd gotten) he told me I'd never get published and hung up on me. Then I called another employee and told them what happened, she just tried to get me to do a deal with them too. Their customer service man I got through to was seemingly so fed up of his job. I got told Id be contacted by their manager to make my complaint - I haven't. I've scorched their 'reputation' online and got a response saying they'll deal with his manager, but ultimately this entire company is one big scam. Do not do it!!!!

THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL AUTHORS: THE WORST MISTAKE YOU CAN EVER MAKE IS TO SIGN AN AUTHORHOUSE CONTRACT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD. ASK THEM TO SEND YOU A CONTRACT AND READ IT CAREFULLY, ESPECIALLY 6.1 AND 6.2. YOU WILL BE SHOCKED THAT SUCH AN EVIL CONTRACT CAN EXIST IN THE SO-CALLED CIVILIZED WORLD. I'M GRATEFUL THAT I FOUND OUT THAT THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH BEFORE I SUBMITTED MY MANUSCRIPT.

I don’t feel supported as a first time author for overall exposure of my book. I felt rushed in beginning when it came to publishing my book with a promise of top 10 sellers if getting editing done with 24-48 hours of weekend. I had to reach out for receiving copies of my books and still have not received follow up about the status of website and marketing of book

The staff at AuthorHouse were courteous, professional and quick to respond to my emails. I couldn't have been happier with their assistance in managing my book. In fact, I have signed a contract with them for my second book and I am looking forward to the same level of help.
