Easy to Use Book Marketing Platform

I am an indie author with 12 books published. When I launch a book or run a book sale, I always run CraveBooks Daily Deal promotions. It always gets new readers to see and buy my books (and it's super easy to use). I highly recommend making CraveBooks a part of every author's marketing strategy.

CraveBooks is an Indispensable Tool!

CraveBooks provides an incredible service to indie authors. The opportunities it provides helped me to grow my email list from 72 to more than 3000 in just five months. In addition, they provide a lot of opportunities to learn a lot about marketing books.

Excellent Support

I feel CraveBooks has provided me with great customer service. I asked them to set up a promotion package, and they did. I sure it helped me get over 900 of my books out during my 4 day promotion.

A Very Convenient Platform for Authors

Great site and service! I use it for my Children's books. I've been taking advantage of their reader magnet feature to help build my email list and the list builders are great, too!

They've been super helpful in getting my email list started with a strong base of readers.

Plus, it's super easy to run a promotion. Your data is saved so you just have to click on the book your want to promote then click on the promotions you want to run :)

Pivotal book marketing experience

I can not express to you how pivotal this company is to the success of independent authors. It provides several effective methods to gain exposure through advertising, plus a huge one: how to establish and grow your own email lists. I have 2500 emails now and growing!! It's our job as authors to find the correct target market and CraveBooks is there to help us gain exposure to their large and growing audience of true book lovers.

Great Promotional Opportunities for Authors

I've been a member of Cravebooks since the beginning and have had great success with the promotional services they offer. Their packages are reasonably priced and easy to sign up for. I have found them professional and quick to respond to any inquiries I may have. I especially like the "list-building giveaways" and have gained hundreds of new contacts for my newsletter. The fact that they break the events down by genre is even better. They deliver what they promise and are my go-to for the successful promotions of my books. I recommend Cravebooks and will continue to use their services.

This is a great website for authors

This is a great website for authors, and the results are more than promised. The site is easy to use, and the response to any questions is very fast. I recommend all authors use this. When I participated in a building giveaway, the results were four times the promised figures.

I found that giving away books did not…

I found that giving away books did not increase sales. I had over 1500 email lists and followed through with emails. it didn't help my book.An explanation could be beneficial for other authors who are promoting their books. My book caters to a specific Christian audience and serves as a self-help guide on dealing with abuse, which means it may not resonate with everyone. Despite having a substantial number of email addresses from Cravebooks, I reached out to them with polite and straightforward emails to further engage with the audience. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response at all. This led me to believe the list may not have been targeted enough for my book. Additionally, I discovered that reasonably priced, targeted email lists are available for purchase online. This worked better for me as I was able to build a private following. Since giving away books didn’t seem to help, I wanted to cancel giving away further books but didn’t realize once you signed up for the giveaways, canceling it was difficult. However, the company did reach out to me, and we resolved the situation. My situation should not affect another novelist who might need a more general audience. Cravebooks created nice ads and kept my book out in public through continuous campaigns. That is always helpful, and I would be happy to use them again. Promoting books is difficult, and using several sources can be very beneficial. Thank-you.

Newsletter Growth: High volume, low click rate

I used CraveBooks for newsletter growth for my romance author brand.

Pros:
- It was very simple to set up
- It was not very expensive
- There was a high volume of signups
- ~20 of the new subscribers went on to join my ARC reader group

Cons:
- The click-rate for these new signups is .7% (compared to Written Word Media's newsletter growth program which has a click-rate of 6%)
- I got reported as spam a *lot* in the first few weeks by the new signups, this caused significant issues with a launch campaign
- High volume of unsubscribes in the first two weeks (1/4th of the initial group)

Cost to value, I'd still say this was a net win. The timing of everything with my new release and getting reported as spam was not CraveMedia's fault, therefore I won't let it affect my star rating.

Great for authors who need marketing help!

As an an independent author building a mailing list is key for building your readership and this can be very difficult and it can take a long time. CraveBooks has a variety of excellent tools for authors to help them build that mailing list and gain and increase their readership.

Giveways- a Total Waste of Time

I don't know if the company can help. I did the giveaway for my book Seeking the Light of Justice. In 24 hours, you gave away 1263 books. That sounds great. I got emails from all those people. However, it didn't generate one sale or review. I did a giveaway on Goodreads and got the same results. I am doing the same on my website. The results are the same: No reviews and no future sales. It's a total waste of time and money.

Reply from CraveBooks

Hi Berry,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the giveaway for "Seeking the Light of Justice." I understand your frustration and disappointment in not seeing immediate sales or reviews following the giveaway, despite the significant number of books distributed.

I'd like to clarify that for the giveaway you participated in, books were only distributed to 3 winners chosen from a large pool of readers. This aligns with our standard practice for most giveaways. However, in your case, you were part of our special $5 ginormous giveaway event, which, as an exception, aimed to significantly increase author exposure by promising 200 emails but ultimately delivered 1200+ emails to participants.

It's important to note that these readers voluntarily opted into authors' newsletters, suggesting an interest in the genre or book. However, engagement beyond that, such as sales or reviews, relies on the readers' continued interest and is not guaranteed through the giveaway alone.

The purpose of these promotions is to get the email addresses of the readers who sign up. This helps you build your newsletter list, which allows you stay connected to the readers.

Readers sign up for a chance to win a Kindle and the ebooks of the participating authors. There is one grand prize winner who gets all of that and 2 winners who receive all the ebooks. So with each List Builder, only 3 readers are getting copies of the ebooks.

If you are looking to increase sales and reviews, our Daily Deal promotions can help with that.

We want to support your promotion efforts. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

We shall reach out to you through email to understand your issues more deeply.

Best Regards
CraveBooks Team
