Alex was great and very detailed in his storytelling and expectations for keeping us on time and pointing out places to eat, shop etc. Alex was very gracious at explaining some etiquette regarding phones etc. unfortunately the woman behind me was talking on her phone numerous times, playing loud music on her phone. She was very disrespectful and annoying. Other than that, I highly recommend this tour and Alex.

Timberbush Tours Holy Island and Alnwick Castle.

Excellent day out from Edinburgh to Holy Island and Alnwick Castle. Weather stayed dry (until we got back to Edinburgh) and SHUG kept us entertained all the way there and back. A very good company to travel with - kept to schedule and when some passengers asked if we could take a detour to see Bamburgh Castle we did (after checking with head office of course). I would definitely recommend.

Lovely tour, great driver/guide

Our guide, Alex, on the one day Isle of Skye tour was excellent. He kept us well informed and entertained as he drove through the day. While a bus tour is not generally my kind of thing, this one had a good combination of driving and time to stretch our legs and walk and explore at different stops along the way.

Loch Ness and the highlands

Alex was a great tour guide. He kept up a running commentary that was informative, funny and made the miles go quickly. We had plenty of stops for photo opportunities and passenger comfort. Very much enjoyed the trip and would definitely do another next time we visit

A tour to recommend Inverness Eilean Donan Castle Isle of Skye

Alex drove us safely from Inverness to the Isle of Skye. He was funny, told us many stories about Scotland and old tales about faires and Kenny. We really recommend the tour. It’s authentic and you can also enjoy the beautiful nature. You also have enough time to enjoy each stop (take pictures, try the food or do a little shopping)

Alex, Eilean Donan Castle, and Isle of Skye

Alex was a smooth driver and a great guide. He filled the drive with quiet music, information, humor, and personal experience from growing up in Portree. He planned the right number of stops for the right amount of time. We toured the Eilean Donan Castle, ate lunch in Portree, and had many other stops to see and photograph parts of the striking landscape. We were concerned about spending 12 hours on a bus tour, but it was fine. The seats were a little narrow, but the bus was clean, had air conditioning, and included some outlets to charge cell phones. Alex gave sensible guidelines about things like talking on cell phones, and he was attentive to the needs of everyone from small children to those with limited mobility. We highly recommend this tour as a pleasant, informative, and low-stress way of seeing this part of the Highlands.

Great guide, beautiful scenery, well organized tour

Great guide, well organized tour, beautiful scenery. The bus stops a lot by these tourists trap places, with all the Scotland merch and less than mediocre food. Would have preferred more scenic stops.

The guide was truly amazing, a lot of fun information and the tour was basically a stand up comedy show, we really enjoyed it.

Dear Eszter,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

We're glad you enjoyed your tour with our driver. We are very proud to have drivers who go above and beyond to provide the best possible experience!

Unfortunately, the main locations that visitors want to see when coming to Scotland have become quite touristy areas. We hope you managed to enjoy your trip regardless.

We hope we can show you some more of Scotland soon!

Kind regards,
Fatima

The tour was fabulous

The tour was fabulous. Best part was a small group of people and the amazing host- Mr. Paul Santa. He made the whole experience so much more lively and entertaining. At times, I felt like he is our headmaster who has taken us for an excursion narrating historical facts and about Scotland in general. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to enjoy Scottish highlands in general and Isle of Skye in particular.

Eileen Donan and Isle of Skye

We did the Eileen Donan and Isle of Skye tour out of Inverness. Be prepared for it to be a full day but your tour guide will make all the difference. We loved the opportunity to jump on and off the bus in the various points of interest. But our guide Jack made the whole trip amazing. He told great stories, gave tips for food, and taught us so much about the culture. Highly recommend!!

Santa Paul - The Best

Santa Paul was the best tour guide. We went on the West Highlands tour and every minute was amazing. He wonderfully engaged his passengers and his stories (nonfiction and fiction) were hilarious. Didn’t want it to end…🥰

Really well organised and interesting…

Really well organised and interesting trip. Our driver Will spoke with passion and knowledge about the highlands and the area explaining what we were seeing and how the region developed over centuries.
When the bus lost its clutch he was calm and reassuring organised for us to go to a local hotel until ( quickly) another coach arrived for us. Well done both!

John is a knowledgeable driver

John was a fun, friendly & incredibly informative tour guide. So much knowledge to share on the history of Scotland in general as well as the places we passed through. He was careful to make sure we knew the spacing of the food & toilet stops, and could tell us what kind of food was available at each stopping point. A great way to see the Scottish highlands without getting too wet!

Everything really

Everything really, guide very informative. Only negative is short time in Aberfoyle as very short time to enjoy food which was rushed and had to be eaten on bus by time food ordered ( fish and chips) ,would have preferred to stay in Loch Lomond longer and have lunch there without rush and given Aberfoyle a miss.

Dear Jay,

Thank you for such a glowing review!

We're glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to the Highlands so much.

There is so much to see in the Scotland so while we try and visit as many places as possible we do have to limit time in some areas.

We hope you had a great time despite this and we hope we can welcome you back soon!

Kind regards,
Fatima

John is the best!

Our driver/guide John was amazing - very knowledgable and entertaining.

The trip was comfortable and my favourite part was getting to sit back and relax while taking in the views while listening to John's history and facts.
