The publishing process was a great…

The publishing process was a great experience. I found when each process was completed, I would be sent to another contact. Having the same person through the process would have been more comfortable but all in all it worked out.

I sent this company money years ago and…

I sent this company money years ago and a proof for a book and have never had anything in return. They ring me frequently though trying to sell me film rights for my book - a tv series - all sorts of cons. Untill I actually see my book in print they are not getting another penny from me.

Los Circulos de la Vida

Production, designers, and editors need more connections with the book and the author. It's impossible to make a good cover and book design if people don't have either a clue nor idea what's the book about.

My working with the publishing associate.…

My experience working with the publication of the book was very good. Those I worked with were very detailed and made sure all areas were covered.
Problems began to occur in the marketing phase and as of yet have not been resolved.

Generally, better can be done.

Generally, it appears that everyone wants to help. However, there seems not be effective communication between the different services. Also, as expected, I guess, there is pressure to buy the offered products.

Not a pleasant experience

My heavens! I have just spent quite a time with this company to try and sort out publishing my book. The cost was quite a bit and I felt too much so they then came up with a much reduced cost BUT would not allow me to go away and think about it - the hard sell technique was applied to a ridiculous extent. They even said that I could not be serious about publishing and accused me of wasting their time!!!

The book turned out fine

The book turned out fine, All the people I delt with were great. The issue is that it is very expensive. My hope is that I get positive results from the marketing program that I purchased. If they do all that they said they would do with reviews and social media sales should come.

Things could be better

Things that I disliked about the publishing process were as follows:

The transparency on the marketing portion wasn't there. I didn't see it even mentioned on the Plan listing, not even as an extra. I was shocked to learn the marketing package was separate and another $1200, after I just dropped $1399 to have the book processed. Also, I understand everyone is busy, but it is really hard to get in touch with my contacts over the phone. Also, I had to contact the company again about getting the marketing materials that were a part of the plan I processed. You guys should have contacted me first about it. One positive I could say though is that I do like the quality of the book printed better from authorhouse vs what I have seen come out of amazon.

Author House was Great!

The entire Author House staff was very helpful and cooperative. From Eve, to Lou and others in the marketing department, all helped me get my book published!

over all satisfied

I liked being in contact with someone the entire way. but it was pricey. Raven Tan was great and so was Annie Barret. I had a lot of trouble with the person trying to sell me an editing package. Very pushy and wouldn’t take no for an answer I almost had to hang up on her. The very last bit of the process (marketing) was a little confusing. The support team helped me more during that stage than the marketing person (Kean) Too hard to get ahold of. didn’t give me any concrete answers. But i am overall very happy with the way my book came out!

They take advantage of new authors

They take advantage of new authors . Push you to a contract , then do not give a suitable service . Amazon published my book with the same price that author house offered me , but with very good marketing team , responsive project manager and very high respect and good quality services . I just wasted my money and time on the author house. AVOID THEM

I published two books with Author Scam…

I published two books with Author Scam in 2010, and 2011 and spent thousands. I didn't receive a single Royalty. I am now taking legal action which is a slow expensive process. They are CRIMINALS

Book Looks Good, Royalties Are Questionable

My book was laid out and printed nicely, as if someone there really cared to make it look as good as possible. That said, there were several errors that needed to be corrected by AuthorHouse before we had liftoff. The reason I am not giving a higher rating is because of the money-grab mentality in treating a supposedly valued customer as a revenue target. Some reps are excellent, but the bad ones make the whole place look like they are only out for your money. If the management there could weed them out and recognize that "if you take care of the customer, the customer will take care of you" it would be better for everyone. I do have one other concern, and that's if authors are truly receiving the royalties to which they are entitled. Is there any way to verify this, aside from AH's own internal system?

Authorhouse needs to be much more up…

Authorhouse needs to be much more up front about the editing process. Total miscommunication on what was being done for which portion of my 2 volume project, with editing cost again added in, after supposedly being settled in the beginning.

Through the process

Through the process, AuthorHouse was consistent with providing eight the proper information to follow through with getting published. The team that was in charge of my book, did a good of putting my work in order.

Unprofessional Customer Rep.

Today, I (as an author) tried to find out about my "Royalties". The customer rep's kept addressing me as Miss (not by my last name and that an email was sent out to all of the authors regarding no more paper royalty checks. When I tried to "Request" for another email be sent out to me, she started calling me "Miss" (again) and that this was actually done by the computer (🤦‍♀️). When I started to see that, I was not going to get anywhere with this customer rep, I had begun to request for a Supervisor, she would then go on as to telling me, that there was no supervisor that I could speak with at this time (is this really happening right now...I said to myself 🤦‍♀️). I think that I need to take my "Art" Work elsewhere.🤔✍️
