It was very difficult to talk with anyone with any expertise. They want you to sign up and give them money and then you are given an agent to work with who seems to know nothing about publishing. Each stage is handled by a different person, and if it gets bogged down or needs an explanation, you end up NOT talking to the person you need. I ended up cancelling the book with them and got only half my money back. Unless you have a very simple book with not images, do not go with this company

My book is something that took much time and effort to achieve and they were patient with me the whole way. My book didn't take long due to lack of creativity, but rather a surplus, and therefore took much time to get down. The Process seemed somewhat effortless on my part, just getting the book finished and as soon as it was, they were ready with open arms. I've had several mixed feelings in all honesty, but this is my first book and I'm new to this. Despite any fluctuations in my feelings for the people and the process, I was overall treated with respect and felt as if they really were helping. That's why I give this a 5 star, not because of the outstanding customer service, but the fact that I felt like I was talking to people on my level, as if we were equals and it was much appreciated.

Very disappointed with the service I received from Travis Black. He sold me packages for French translation of my books series. And when it was close to the deadline promised, would not answer my calls or emails. He also sold me a package for an audio version of my book and never kept me informed when trying to reach him for an update.

Working with them was the worst publishing experience I have ever had and I've published 17 books. Travis Black in particular was impossible to work with. He doesn't follow through on his commitments and trying to get him to return calls is virtually impossible. As a self-publishing business, they don't seem to care about their writers. There are much better options for self-publishing.

The cover designed by Xlibris is fantastic; everyone who sees it is delighted. I trust Xlibris; they have published three books for me. I had a most frustrating and disappointing experience with another "self-publishing firm. I shall use them again. My major mistake, perhaps, is not using their marketing.

Xlibris did a nice job editing and publishing my book, including a good cover page.

Marketing services stink.

They won’t pay my royalties.

They are really only good at one thing: charging you more and more for services.

Terrible experience!
Hundreds of terrible reviews so I cancelled within 24 hrs.
If you try to cancel they wont refund anything especially if you send a copy of your book or manuscript.

I found your senior book consultant unhelpful and patronising. In past experience with Xlibris, I have never come across any one like Tony Adams.
I found it very hard to communicate with him and the answer to my questions were long winded and unnecessary. My experience with Jane Cole was great.

I have published six books with Xlibris and every time I am more satisfied than before. They correct my mistakes very quickly and kindly, until the book is ready for publication.

In the end when I finally got 50 books I had ordered several weeks prior in time for students to get books before school was out, Xlibris came through overnighting. I have published several books with Xlibris with total satisfaction, but this time was a bit different. In the beginning I talked with so many different individuals, had lots of back and forth conversations less than satisfactory and just found many road blocks without good clarity. I still don't have what my author's discount price is for my book for ordering and have asked repeatedly to have Xlibris lower the $14.99 for a small paperback for children. This price inhibits sales in my area. To sell any books I will have to set a personally lower price for any friends and bookstore clients and be losing money, not even making prices I have paid out

Xlibris staff said they would push on getting this job done before the lucrative holidays, and they did. We got the book published in very little time, a month or 6 weeks. They did a beautiful job on the illustrations. I could not have been happier with them. Whatever they said they were going to do, they did! They got right on it and did it.

I went with Xlibris in 2017 at first they were very forceful, being new to this industry I went along with all their suggestions which cost many of thousands of dollars. The errors that were highlighted remained in book. I took up their marketing program which cost a bundle even displayed in all internation book shows around the world. It is on booktopia, amazon and many other site. But to date not one book has been sold other than the 500 I had to buy with mistakes, I have received not a cent in royalties and have not heard a word from them for 3 years until today, with msg have returned call only to get answering machine. I'll let you know but don't go with the company they live on your dream.

Had it just been the production services for my book I'd purchased, I'd have given Xlibris six stars. They did a fabulous job of quickly designing a perfect cover from a painting I'd sent to them. Unfortunately, Xlibris has more than missed the mark on all other services for which I'd paid very high prices. Giving them three stars here was generous of me.
It has been several months since I fully paid for the audio version, three independent reviews of my book and press release services. I haven't gotten as much as an update on where things are with even starting any of those agreed upon projects. I have badgered Xlibris several times about all of these, without an adequate response, i.e., actually moving forward and producing the things they'd promised to produce in connection to my book.
My recommendation to anyone looking to self-publish is to purchase only the packaging and formatting services from Xlibris, and look elsewhere for everything else.

When they say you will have a team that was what they gave me, this was new to me so I really was not sure what I was doing, I just knew how to write. So I did and they took their time with what I did not know. and helped me to understand better what I did know or thought I knew, I did not rush with what I was writing or sign off on anything until I was ready. Not to call any names, from the first person to sign me up to the last person to put my book out there all were a part of my team, I am pleased and you can still reach out to them and I have. So five stars ✨ from me I hope to use Xlibris again thank you.

I published with Xlibris in 2004. Paid a lot to get my book published. To heck with trying to put date of experience, it was 2004. To get back to my dealings with Xlibris, I did not get any as per se, Xlixbris. Got a lot of promises that didn’t go anywhere. To sum it up, they did not sell 1 book. Also they sure tried to get me to do another marketing plan and the cost was a lot. I don’t even contact them now. Oh, the name of the novel is The Curse of The Bracelet.

First, I had two different men call from Xlibris trying to get me to purchase a marketing package. The first pressured me, and when it became clear to him I was buying, he became hostile and hung up. I told the second caller I did not want the package and could not afford it. He said, "You really do want it and you can afford it." He didn't want to take no for an answer and became rude when he realized I would not purchase.

Last Wednesday, I received five free copies of my book, For Virginia. Three of them were defective. I am being put through the ringer, being told to provide pictures and other information more than once, and the issue still isn't resolved. You gave me three faulty copies. Maker good on them.
