AVOID IUNIVERSE/author house

If there was a negitive option for a star, I would’ve chose that.. there busy, I understand but there far from professional. Including the managers, no one calls me back, they promise call backs however never call back. They barely respond through email, but yet wants me to change my cover name to a fake name. I’m paying $1000 just to receive 10% of royalty. Any positive review is a lie.If anyone knows a better self publishing company please email me @zekewilliams500@gmail

It took two years to publish this book

It took two years to publish this book. (#834947). You printed the illustrations too light, even though they were submitted dark. You mixed my illustrations with my coloring pictures, making the coloring book ineffective. You did not print what I approved but changed pages after my approval. Samantha Anderson was often unavailable, and Kelly Martin had to be called to help get the publishing moving.

Fantastic

The process with iUniverse was exceptional. Very organized; uses the team approach. Sometimes it was hard for me to keep up with all the different people that were helping me, it was obvious it was an efficient system. The staff are very responsive. You don't wait long before someone returns your call or email. Coordinated effort; beautiful cover design; and currently working on web design. They are responsive to my vision on what I want to see on the website. Great experience overall.

Buyer Beware times ten.

If your looking for a digitalized, mediocre, disinterested and sales (theirs, not yours) driven company, call iuniverse. It was a horrible experience on every level: lousy formatting, bad development, and impossible to reach anyone if you have a question or problem. Do me a favor; look up best and worst self publishing.- iuniiverse is right there at the bottom. Owned by
Authors Solution, this ain't a solution if you're an author. Don't join the disappointed - there's not a lot of room left.

My name is Larry Matthews and in 2010

My name is Larry Matthews and in 2010, I published my first book with Iuniverse entitled "The power of the Gift." The cost was very expensive, however it got through editorial evaluation and I consented to have it published. Afterwards, entered into a contract with them to publish a 2nd edition. This publication was a horror show! Iuniverse did everything they could to try to get me to purchase more of their products and when I didn't they published the 2nd edition anyway ERRORS and All! Horrible company. They steal my royalties. Don't buy my books and Please Don't Publish with this company. They're BAD NEWS!

I was undecided as to whether or not to publish my first book, "Unconditional - Love and Life with Greyhounds". On my initial call when I hesitated an advisor said, Are you afraid to fail? (I was.) "If you don't do it you've all ready failed."

And so after over a year due to Covid and life's interruptions my book is published and available. The process was thorough, and the suggestions were more than helpful Because the support was there I was able to finished I cannot thank iUniverse enough for all their help and guidance

My experience was positive overall.

My experience was positive overall. The only complaints I have was one, no one telling me I could not order copies of my novel until all of my installments were paid. Second, in my opinion there were too many coordinators involved in the process. They were all professional, but I couldn't keep the names straight.

Great Journey - Great Results

I have always felt confident dealing with the folks at iUniverse. They are knowledgeable, professional and very encouraging. It has been a fun journey throughout the six times that I have published with them. I am always thrilled to see the end results.

Brian Miller: Dragon-Stars at War Book 8

There is no other 'duty' that a teenager can really do other than to be a companion. Look at HR Pufnstuf or Pete's Dragon or, really Star Trek's _Metamorphosis_ (Season 2, episode 9)--a human and 'companion'. On this, 'you can't go no better'. Read it and see!

IUniverse made it possible for me to…

IUniverse made it possible for me to publish a book I am proud of. I had a compelling story I wanted to tell but had no real experience being public about telling it. With IUniverse, I was provided a team of professionals to evaluate my manuscript for content and liability issues. These were the areas most intimidating for me. With the team’s support, I had the confidence to proceed. The result is published book that people are reading! I am a published author! And, I can stand behind my work with my head up! It is an amazing feeling.

I published my first book with IUniverse and everyone I worked with was professional and helpful through each step of the process. The quality of the product was A+. Both hardcover and soft cover editions looked fantastic! I would recommend this publishing company to anyone who wants to make their story into an actual book!

The Best SelfPublishing

I published my first book with iUniverse when it first started, the second book the next year. My third book this month 11/20. The experience for all Three was very good. The Editoring service is not like tradional publishers for which you pay lots of $$$$$. They provide an Editoral Evaluation, one of their employees read the book and provide general coments and plus or minus over certain areas. As the author has the final approval of their design and content of the internal part, provided 2 editing reviews. That is the same for the front and back covers. No agent taking roalty $ from it. It is 10% if bought from B&N, Amazon, etc. and 25% if direct from iUniverse.

This adventure was an educational…

This adventure was an educational experience of self-publishing. I learned cost is very important along with a plan of action that fits inside your goal for your project. This area should be discussed by IUniverse with you to allow foresight to direct your aspirations to be published and to target your market.

IUniverse has all the tools to help people accomplish their goals but like anything, it cost. Know where you're going, allow IUniverse to provide the tools, pay the cost, get published, and you do the work to be read.

My experience with iUniverse has been fantastic.

My experience with iUniverse has been nothing if not beyond my wildest expectations. They are totally knowledgeable about their craft, they know what to do and how to do it. But more importantly, they know how to do things right and have the talented people to help make the author's experience easy and pleasant. Their service is reasonably priced and well-packaged. I would rate their performance as absolutely stellar.

…Only one concern

The only issue that I have is a consultant named Heather Carter. She has not responded to 3 emails I have sent in the last 10 days. She was going to call me and help me in the promoting my just published book, with the do's and the don'ts. She initially contacted me on March 30th and I have tried to contact her with no success. I am disappointed and very eager to start promoting my book. I do not want to do anything to create a problem for anyone and I do not wish to do or say something that is improper, but if I don't know what that is, I am in a stalled position. Good service in general but the type…

Good service in general but the type setting/design and marketing service (e.g., author's website and press release) can be improved, as there are lots of errors on the first draft. This makes the author as the sole gatekeeper to spot out any errors for fixing despite the errors were fixed swiftly.

C+ for Author Services

I-Universe puts out a good product in the case of printing and binding. The rest is entirely up to the author. Marketing costs are excessive. It is also far less expensive for the author to find an indie editor. In my case the editor was very open to phone conferences. This is an editing experience I-Universe cannot replicate due to their business model. It is also best for the author to compose their own marketing copy as those employed by the publisher couldn't hold a job at a decent ad agency as copywriters. On the plus side, the publisher will create a great author's webpage.

IUniverse is an amazing

IUniverse is an amazing, publishing company. Angie is very friendly and straight-forward, as to turning your dreams into reality. They, (in my opinion) are very affordable, as compared to other companies. IUniverse, works with their authors, to turn their dreams into reality. (I love them).

Everyone i spoke to was quite lovely

Everyone i spoke to was quite lovely. However the editing process left much to be desired. I found misplaced quotation marks, simple grammatical errors. The book was beautiful when I received it however I found an error on the back cover. Which was probably my fault since I didn't catch it. I found out it would cost 300.00 to fix it. Never-ending. Next book I will hire my own editor
