At the beginning of the process, I was getting help from many of the house team members. My biggest disapointment was finding out about where and how my book could be purchased. Also I did not recieve my first copy of my book until 1 week after those who ordered on line and by phone.

My experience with AuthorHouse was very good. It was my first time to write and publish and they made the process pretty simple. It's surreal to think that I have a published book in my hand!

The experience of actually publishing was very good. My agent was excellent. However, since then I have had to deal with many people over the phone who have heavy accents. I have had a very difficult time understanding them and they do not seem to understand anything I try to say or ask. I would love to speak with someone who speaks and understands English. This has been extremely frustrating.

I have written 5 books through Author House and would recommend them highly. They have helped me through every step and made the process exciting and fun. The illustrators captured my characters and stories and again, made every effort to please me. I am more than satisfied with the results. I am very happy that I chose Author House, and will choose them again for my 6th book.

Overall I had a great experience working with Authorhouse. There were a few snafus getting the layout finalized, but they were corrected right away. My only disappointment was that when my book was published I didn’t get copies of it for almost 2 weeks-after many people who purchased the book from 3rd party sites saw it before I did. Other than that it was a pleasant experience and I will most likely be using them again for my next book.

I think the over all experience was just okay. The people I talked to, (whenever I could get hold of them) were good and courteous.
But I think for all the amount I paid to have the book published, I was told that my work will be fully edited. That didn't happen. Only about four or five pages of poetry and one story were edited. I had to do my own editing. I would never have paid that much or get my book published there if I were told that I would have only a few pages edited. That left a very sour taste for me. When I questioned about it, I was told that if I were to have the entire manuscript edited, I would have to pay $700 more. I did not have that problem with CreateSpace which had published my book and had done the editing completely. I was hoping that if my experience was good with AuthorHouse, then I would send them my collection of stories to get published next. But I will not do that now.
Initially I had problem when I couldn't get hold of the different agents. Finally I had to send an email to one of the supervisors and complain, and after that the ladies were good and called back whenever I left a message.
I think they charged me too much for a single copy, and was told that it was a discounted price. I had to pay over $8 for each copy to get 50 copies for my personal gifts or sale to friends. CreateSpace charged me $3. Too bad that that publishing house has closed doors.

I have nothing but the best to say about Authorhouse. The people were all courteous and prompt in their responses to my enquiiries. My book turned out beautifully done both inside and out.

Author house publishing has good quality but I guess like almost any other business you have to stay on top of things or they will sell you a dream. Again the quality in the book itself is good but the things I had to go through was more than a handful.

I am not sure how my experience will work out, but I would not reccomend this as your avenue to success unless you are willing to throw $25,000.00 into the pot. I’m in it for over $10,000.00 and have one copy of one book to show for it.
